Human Trafficking and Modern-Day Slavery

Brief summary:

This Training will provide an overview of legislation and National guidance on the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and Human Trafficking. In 2017 5,145 potential victims were identified and reported, which was an increase of 35% from 2016. It is evident there is a need to recognise and understand how vulnerable children and adults are exploited for sex, labour, criminal activity and financial benefit to perpetrators.

At the end of this event participants will be able to:

  • Understand the implications of the Modern-Day Slavery Act 2015 and Human Trafficking.
  • Have knowledge of the vulnerabilities of children and adults as part of Modern-Day Slavery and Human Trafficking.
  • Know how to recognise sings of exploitation and where to report.
