Brian works part time as a Professor of Social Work, with over 45 years experience in practice, management, education, and research in children and families work, youth offending, and mental health. 35 years experience as trainer, researcher, consultant in staff /agency support, and training/consultancy to staff on dealing with a variety of forms of violence and conflict with service users, including resistance and disguised compliance from parents in safeguarding children work. Support/ debriefing for staff/teams where they have been negatively affected by any of area of violence/aggression/conflict. Delivered over 400 courses/consultancies/sessions on these areas.
