Y Ffordd Gymraeg / the Welsh Way

The launch of BASW Cymru's Heritage Project

We ask you to join us at our inaugural event to launch the BASW Cymru Heritage Project.

Our heritage project provides an insight to our past and how our profession has evolved a distinct Welsh Identity – Y Ffordd Cymraeg/The Welsh Way. Our heritage project helps us examine our history as social workers in Wales, the good and not so good parts too, it enables us to develop an awareness about ourselves and what the profession needs to be if we are to reflect and represent a diverse, inclusive, and anti-racist Wales.

This project has been actively supported by and includes invaluable contributions from those who have been instrumental in shaping and reforming social work in a post devolution Wales. From our First Minister, Mark Drakeford through to academics such as Dr Neil Thompson and Professor Charlotte Williams OBE.

The launch event includes film, music and poetry which takes us on a journey from the past, the present and into the future.

This is event is open to all citizens in Wales and is part of BASW Cymru's World Social Work Week celebations. Please join us.
