Join students and social workers from across North and West Yorkshire for this joint online branch event designed to inspire and support your continuous learning and development.

This branch event is open to BASW members and non-members, students, social workers and retired social workers living, working or studying in the West or Noth Yorkshire areas.

 

Speaker: Claire Webster, Practice Development Consultant for SCIE 

What will the event cover?

Claire will look at how the Human Rights Act applies to Social Work practice and how we can learn from lives, deaths of individuals, and through case law where the human rights act legislation has not been followed in order to better equip social care workers in the future. 

Questions and sharing of experiences of practice is welcomed.

Claire Webster Biography:

Claire is a qualified and registered social worker who is currently supporting organisations through consultancy and training to improve the lives of people who draw on care and support. specialising in projects related (but not limited) to The Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act, Coproduction, Care Act, Safeguarding, Autism and Learning Disabilities, Social Care Reforms and legislative reforms including Liberty Protection Safeguards and Mental Health Act reforms.
