Perinatal mental health social work – what is it, what does it aim to achieve and what are the challenges faced?
Our speaker will be Louise Manton, a mental health social worker since 20056 and a perinatal specialist since 2019. Louise says: "I am passionate and relentlessly focused on providing robust and holistic mental health support that meets the needs of people with mental health issues. My social work values are woven throughout my work where advocacy, challenging system barriers and wanting the best care options for our patients are what drive me. I lead a motivated and engaged team with this as our focus. I look forward to being able to talk more and share ideas about this emerging type of social work with the members of BASW’."
