BASW England Derbyshire & Nottighamshire Branch Event - Hearing the voice of Care Experienced Children and Young People (CECYP): A Qualitative Pilot Study

This is an online branch event taking place on MS Teams open to students, social workers, BASW members and non-members studying, living or working in the Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire area.

Hearing the voice of Care Experienced Children and Young People (CECYP): A Qualitative Pilot Study

This seminar will explore the findings from the study which emphasizes the experience of the social worker in understanding their own perceptions of conflict when hearing and responding to the voice of CECYP, the potential pitfalls, and any changes needed in practice. The findings highlight that while the voice of CECYP is heard, the message itself is difficult to decipher or act upon, due to the circumstances of CECYP at that moment in time and the constraints imposed on both parties.

*The seminar will also explore how social workers can develop their research interests with an overview of what the professional doctorate entails.
