BASW England Black Country Branch Event - Social Work with people who experience Homelessness or have housing needs: Developing Policy and guidance for a key area of social and personal life across the generations

A joint event with Wolverhampton University Social Work Department

This joint event with Wolverhampton University Social Work Department focuses on the importance to people who do or may  access Social Work of the availability of good quality and affordable Housing across the generations, and the importance of having constructive approaches to support people experiencing  homelessness, and the role of The Social Worker in this important area.

- Dr Joe Smeeton ( Sheffield Hallam Uni) will be introducing the BASW England guidance on Social Work with families who are homeless or who have housing needs. Read more about the guidance here

- Rosanne Palmer, (BASW’s Policy and Research officer) will be talking about the new BASW UK-wide Housing and social work Policy document.

- A local Social Housing Manager will be talking about local/regional issues , including on the controversial ‘exempt’ supported housing.
