The BASW Code of Ethics is the most downloaded and used of BASW documents.
The Code is regularly updated to ensure it remains relevant and the 2014 version of the Code will be superseded by the 2021 edition which launched on 1 July.
BASW is delighted to be joined at this launch by Professor Sarah Banks who is author of the classic text ‘Ethics and Values in Social Work’ who will talk about the importance of ethics in social work, and Martin Sexton, who is Chair of BASW’s Policy Ethics and Human Rights Committee which has been responsible for overseeing the process of refreshing the Code. Martin will discuss how the Code has changed and the implications of this. There will be a Question and Answer session and attendees will be the first to access a copy of the 2021 Edition of the Code.
