SWU Protects Social Workers

Welcome to Day 5 of SWU's 10th Anniversary Celebration! Be sure to check back each day between June 12-21 for new videos and blogs that showcase our history and celebrate our future.

Today's video features Fran Fuller who held the dual role of first SWU President and BASW Chair when the Social Workers Union was formed in 2011.

Fran reflects on the reason that BASW decided to set up SWU, saying, "It was in response to BASW members not being able to be represented at hearings at local authorities. We felt it was important we were able to provide that service to members.

Although the journey has been a difficult one with some complex challenges, it's been one that I've been very proud to be a part of in terms of the history of the last ten years."
