Are you passionate about social work?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for five SASW members to join the Committee in Scotland – including the role of Chair.

We welcome applications from all parts of the sector including those working in diverse settings.

You can make a valuable contribution to the social work profession – and to the work of our 50-year-old Association – as part of our committee in Scotland. We need the voices of social workers working at the coalface to help us make change happen.

Our Committee of 15 practitioners representing different specialist areas inform and oversee our business and workplan in Scotland. Two people are selected from Committee to become BASW UK Council members, who will be responsible for the running of BASW UK.

All SASW activity counts towards your CPD, helping you gain new knowledge and skills contributing to your SSSC PRTL standards. This is an excellent career development opportunity, giving insight into specialist areas, including BASW Council, the International Committee, Policy Ethics and Human Rights Committee and other Special Interest Groups.

Meetings are 4 times a year with occasional additional phone conferences. All meetings can be remotely attended by Skype.

For the Chair role, easement payments are available to your employer.

Travel expenses are reimbursed for all Committee members. Candidates are initially elected for 2 years.

Applications must be submitted by 5pm on Friday 21st February 2020
