Have your say: Public Consultation on the regulatory framework for Social Work England now open

A statement made today by Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Children and Families, Nadhim Zahawi, launches the publishing of a consultation on the policy to establish regulations and the regulatory framework for Social Work England.

The framework and the regulations within it are to be made under Part 2 of the Children and Social Work Act 2017.

Public consultation is now open on the policy and BASW is urging members urged to share their views.

BASW position statement on the regulation of social work and social workers in the UK.

BASW supports the need for statutory regulation of social work and social workers for public protection. The Association works with regulators and with related stakeholders within the UK Standing Conference of Social Work and Social Workers, and with governments in the four countries of the UK. Developed by David N Jones, this paper was commissioned by the BASW Policy, Ethics and Human Rights Committee.
