Are you a BASW England member with experience of workforce development and keen to extend your skills and CV through mentoring?
The BASW England mentor role supports: -
- Newly Qualified Social Workers into their first job,
- Social Workers looking to return to practice after a career break
- Social Workers from abroad seeking employment in England.
Our mentors are BASW members with some experience of workforce development though any qualified BASW member with the ability to support others to achieve their goals is eligible to apply to be a mentor.
The role is unpaid however it is a great way to boost your skills and CV.
Mentors receive support from a dedicated Professional Officer at BASW and tools and resources. There will also online and face to face development sessions for mentors too.
Mentors offer mentees three sessions via telephone, email or social media to help them in their journey into social work employment.
We are now looking to recruit five new mentor volunteers for the service.
