SASW Team Weekly Roundup
Find out what the team in Scotland have been doing on behalf of members this week
On Tuesday, at our Community of Practice for children and families, we discussed the Revised Draft Guidance for Child Protection, which is currently out for consultation. Members views will be collated to contribute to SASW’s response to this. You can share your views, here.
We attended the AGM of the Cross Party Group on Men’s Violence Against Women and Girls. Presentations from Scottish Women’s Aid and Rape Crisis Scotland highlighted the ongoing impact of the pandemic on those they seek to support, and the challenges of continuing to provide that support.
We worked with Universities to arrange SASW inputs for students in their final year of study.
We held our Self-directed Support discussion event to collate practitioner’s views for a consultation on a draft of new SDS Standards.
We held our Student and Newly Qualified Social Worker support and mentoring forum, which reflected on 2020.
We finalised the first draft of our Manifesto for Social Work ahead of the Scottish Parliamentary Elections in 2021. This will go out to members for comments in the new year.
We continued to build relationships with key stakeholders in Social Work, this week meeting with COSLA.
