Full Time, Edinburgh office or home based (subject to discussion and Covid requirements) opportunity.  £53,356 - £70,755 per annum + benefits. To drive the development and growth of the Association in Scotland, providing leadership to develop the engagement of and support to members and recruiting social workers to the association. Application deadline - 10am 30th June 2020

Public and Political Affairs Lead

Fulltime, London based opportunity, to join the BASW Policy and Research Team, £34,798 - £49,887 per annum + benefits. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and committed individual with relevant experience and a successful track record of driving change by lobbying and engaging authoritatively with ministers, advisers and officials in UK government. BASW Chair

The Chair of BASW is elected to lead the Association and to chair Council, the governing board of Directors of BASW. If you can demonstrate effective leadership, chairing skills, the ability to engage with and represent members, a wide understanding of the profession, the ability to represent the association in diverse forums – and have the dedication needed to make a difference to social work and people using social work services – this could be a role for you.

BASW Vice Chair

The Vice Chair of BASW will support the Chair in leading the governing body of the Association. They will be a Director and Honorary Officer of the Association.

PEHR Committee Chair

The Chair of the PEHR Committee is an Elected Director and sits on the governing body of the Association as well as chairing the PEHR Committee.

Elected Directors

Elected Directors do not have a fixed committee role or portfolio but play a key part in setting the direction of the Association through being part of Council and other responsibilities and portfolios of activities relevant to their interests and expertise.

BASW England Criminal Justice Subgroup

The Subgroup provides an expert focus for social workers who have an interest in criminal/youth justice. There are various opportunities for continuous professional development for members and to expand the knowledge base in this domain.

The Subgroup are currently recruiting for members and the position of Subgroup Chair.
