Financial Support

Debt advice

BASW is working with national debt charity Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) to ensure that members have access to free, non-judgemental advice on dealing with their debts.

If you are finding it hard to keep up with monthly repayments to your creditors, seek expert debt help from CCCS. All its help is impartial, confidential and free of charge. Its online service – CCCS Debt Remedy – is available 24 hours a day to provide free, anonymous debt advice.

The CCCS freephone Helpline is also available to contact Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm on 0800 138 1111.

The Social Workers’ Benevolent and Educational Trusts

Offering grants to social workers, The Social Workers’ Benevolent Trust and The Social Workers’ Educational Trust were both established by BASW in the early 1970s.

Also, you can currently apply for one of the two 2013 scholarships from the Social Workers Educational Trust, worth £1,500 each. For more information click here.
