West Yorkshire Branch event: Anti-Racism in Social Work: presented by Marsha Hudson member of the Black Professionals Symposium Group
The Black Lives Matter movement has exposed the horrendous injustice, discrimination and oppression faced by black and minority ethnic people on a daily basis around the globe.
As a society, we fall dreadfully short of the mark when it comes to ensuring equality – and unfortunately, social work is not exempt. A real commitment to anti-racism within social work is a constant, ongoing process.
The Black and Ethnic Minority Symposium which is part of BASW presents an Anti-Racism presentation as a response to the events following George Floyd’s murder in May 2020 and as a reaction to a discontinued discussion about anti-racism in current Social Work Practice.
This Anti-Racist meeting is open to members and non-members. This event can be used to provide evidence towards your CPD for social work registration.
