Special Community of Practice Adult Services: The National Care Service

15th September 2021

“The National Care Service- the biggest change to social care in Scotland in 70 years"

The Scottish Government have set out an ambitious proposal for a social care system which offers personalised and empowering support to those who need it.  Significant changes to social work and social care are proposed. There are clearly opportunities to move social workers from resource-management back to relationship-based practice, but are there also risks to our profession?   Will the new structures deliver the improvements needed?  What are the possible implications on social work? What does it mean for adult services?

The consultation on the National Care Service has launched. We are keen to start the discussion and hear your thoughts.

Even if you haven’t read the consultation yet or know little about the proposals come along to hear more about it as this will have a major impact on the way we work. It is important for social work voices to be part of the discussions.

Book a place below to come and join us. You will receive an agenda some reading prior to the session, which will be used to inform the discussion. The session will takle place on MS Teams
