Oxfordshire Branch Event, Putting Relationships and Community Back into Social Work

At this event we will discuss putting community back into social care, helping support children and families.

Professor Anna Gupta (together with Brid Featherstone, Kate Morris and Susan White) is the author of ​Protecting Children​: A Social Model​, (published 2018).  The book critiques current child protection policies and the widening gap between protection services and family support as funding is squeezed.

Andrew Broome is an experienced Child Protection Chair, IRO and now Family Group Conference (FGC) Coordinator.  He will speak about FGCs and how they can empower families to bring about change, bot in the cotext of child protection as well as in adult social welfare.
