Living good lives: Creating a positive and therapeutic culture in hospitals with a rights-based approach for adults with learning disabilities and/or autistic adults

This is the second of three webinars in a series aimed at supporting health and social care practitioners to enable adults with learning disabilities and/or autistic adults to live good lives along the homes not hospitals pathway.

Hear perspectives from people with lived experience, BASW England, Skills for Care, CQC and NICE on the following areas:

  • Current priorities for hospitals identified by adults with learning disabilities and/or autistic adults who have experienced care in assessment and treatment units and insight from CQC
  • How to access resources and training to support hospital settings to create and provide positive and therapeutic environments and care for adults with learning disabilities and/or autistic adults in hospitals
  • What good hospital care looks like, including rights-based care, restraint reduction, regular reviews, advance care planning, the role of the named social worker, and regular contact with people in hospitals.

This webinar is for health and social care practitioners, including social workers, learning disability nurses and occupational therapists supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or autistic adults in hospital settings.

The living good lives webinar series has been organised collaboratively between BASW England, Care Quality Commission, Skills for Care and NICE.
