Black Country Branch seminar: The role of public health and relationship to social care and social work

The first in an occasional series looking at wellbeing in social work.

Speakers 

  • Dr John Middleton, Professor of Public Health, President of the Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region and previously Director of Public Health for many years in Sandwell 
     
  • Neeraj Malhotra Consultant in Public Health in Wolverhampton and also previously of Sandwell

The seminar will look at current work taking place in public health both where it relates directly and indirectly to social work. A number of examples will be explored looking at vulnerable groups including child-care and homelessness. And a wider view of the role and value of public health both before and during the pandemic will be explored both to show the value of public health and how the professional roles can work together to improve outcomes for the public at large and vulnerable groups in particular

The session will be of real value to all and establish a broader context for our work
