Black Country Branch Seminar: Professional leadership – lighting the way in social work

This CPD session will examine the importance of leadership in social work practice.


  • Ros Gowers,  independent social worker, practice educator, tutor and mentor, a member of the NOPT committee and vice chair of BASW Worcestershire branch. 

  • Helen Stanley, manager of a social work academy and member of the NOPT committee.

Ros and Helen will be examining professional leadership and will explore the social work role in addressing the increasing layers of injustice and inequality faced by many in our often divided society.

This CPD session will be of interest to social work students and any social workers seeking to improve practice.
