Birmingham & Solihull Branch Meeting

Wayne Reid is a BASW Professional Officer and Social Worker.  His professional background includes working with adult and young offenders; care leavers; Looked After Children; in child protection; adult mental health and supervising foster carers.

As part of his current role, Wayne has compiled the BASW England responses to the numerous Social Work England consultation campaigns over the past 18 months.

Wayne’s presentation will provide you with an overview of the reforms to social work regulation, the implications for social workers and BASW’s role in shaping developments.

In addition to the presentation from Wayne Reid, there will be a branch meeting for BASW members.  Come and meet with local social workers (from various professional backgrounds) to:

• Discuss local and national social work issues
• Influence the work of BASW
• Have your say on wide-ranging social work matters
• Network with other professionals
• Develop your continuous professional development
