‘As social workers we rely on our professional skills to engage, collaborate and negotiate however there are times when we need to have difficult conversations with service users, service providers and indeed colleagues. Evidence shows that a restorative approach is highly effective at navigating such discussions, leading to an outcome that is mutually acceptable.

In this seminar you will learn the philosophy and values underpinning restorative practices and fundamental skills that you can use in any context, at any time, where people need to hear and be heard.

Martina Jordan is a part-time professional officer with BASW NI and an independent restorative practices consultant and trainer in the fields of education and criminal justice’
