Russell Hogarth is an expert by experience in social care. In this webinar, Gabriella and Russell will reflect on how this lived experience helped guide and shape his career,which is centred around the positive development of social work and social care.

Russell Hogarth

Russell Hogarth is an Honorary Fellow, Community Engagement Ambassador and Entrepreneur in residence at the University of Central Lancashire.

Russell chairs the Honorary Fellow advisory group and the award winning international Creative Communities Group. www.ccguk.org

He ran his own successful business for 25 years before entering the world of academia and community engagement.

Russell is a University guest lecturer, High School and Academy enterprise advisor and a EU virtual VET ambassador at Cedefop VET toolkit for tackling early leaving

Russell is a philanthropist and social entrepreneur, and his area of special interest is equality, diversity, and inclusion.

His 2015 MacMillan Palgrave publication, titled Creative Education, Teaching and Learning is often quoted as a pathway to inclusion and accessible education.

Russell is a social entrepreneur mentor for UnLtd and a trustee for Creativity Works Preston.

He is also an advisor to the Royal College of Psychiatrists and the British Association of Social Workers.

Russell is the CEO for the national forum for health and wellbeing

His expertise in entrepreneurship, lifelong learning and active citizenship is now recognised both nationally and internationally.

Gabriella Zavoli

Gabriella Zavoli, BASW Project and Volunteer Engagement Coordinator. With 20 years’ experience in an arts, community engagement and heritage setting working for museums, historic houses, charities and not for profit organisations. I have also been proud to be the BASW Heritage Project Coordinator for the BASW 50th Anniversary project 2020 to 2021.

Project Coordinator/Project Manager for large scale bid funded projects and Volunteer Coordinator for community engagement legacy projects. I have a passion for participation and learning and believe the key to this is experiential engagement through interactive learning and resource development. Working with young people and community groups through charities, not for profit organisations, museums, and historic houses to bring people together, working with external and internal stakeholders and experts by experience. Currently working on some fantastic projects and plans with BASW for volunteer engagement working with BASW members and experts by experience internally with a focus on learning and perceptions of social work externally.
