The Social Work Role in Domestic Abuse

This event built on the success of those held in Edinburgh and Inverness in 2017. It was held in partnership between the Scottish Association of Social Work and Scottish Women's Aid, with support from Equally Safe in Higher Education at Strathclyde University.

The event was an opportunity to explore emerging themes of good practice in Scotland regarding domestic abuse. We drew on what we know about what works, and what women and children tell us. The event focussed on what social workers can do to promote the rights and needs of survivors. There was a variety of guest speakers and workshops.
