Letter to Kenny MacAskill, Cabinet Secretary for Justice
The Scottish Association of Social Work fully supports any reform that will promote the welfare of prisoners that will contribute to their successful return to the community. Our members who work in Criminal Justice Social Work have brought to the attention of our Scotland Committee the issue of the abolition of Scottish Prison Visiting Committees. They have asked me to write on their behalf to express their concern for this proposal.
