SASW 2009, September Response to the consultation on The Role of the Social Worker In Contributing Better Outcomes for Scotland
BASW welcomes the consultation on the proposed Guidance about the Social Workers contribution to the overall work of the social services in Scotland.
There are four main concerns that we have in relation to the current consultation. They all stem from the same principle that the specific professional training that is involved in becoming a Registered Social Worker leads to particular skills in balancing meeting need, assessing risk and recognising rights.
