Safeguarding vulnerable adults – a tool kit for general practitioners
This tool kit is about promoting the wellbeing of adults who may have difficulty in protecting themselves from harm and abuse and in promoting their own interests. Designed principally with general practitioners (GPs) in mind, it will nonetheless be useful for any professional working in a health care setting who encounters adults whose ability to promote their own rights and interests may be challenged, either directly by an abuser, or because they are in a situation of dependency, or through institutional neglect or disempowerment.
