This Impact Assessment provides analysis of the costs and benefits of the Government’s intention to reform the law relating to care and support. It should be read alongside the report of the Law Commission, published in May 2011, the recommendations of which have greatly influenced the approach to reform of legislation.1 It should also be read in conjunction with the White Paper, “Caring for our future: reforming care and support” and the Government’s response to the Law Commission recommendations, Reforming the law for adult care and support.
