Counting the Costs 2008
This report describes the findings of an online survey carried out during the summer of 2008 (May-July) with 793 UK parents of disabled children about their economic situation over the last 12 months.
It costs three times as much to raise a disabled child1. This is due to direct extra costs such as aids, adaptations, transport, heating and childcare. And disabled children and their families are at greater risk of living in poverty.
