Rural disadvantage Reviewing the evidence

This overview explores the difference living in a rural area makes to being ‘disadvantaged’. It pulls together existing contemporary evidence on disadvantage in rural England and provides an assessment of the wide range of social, economic and environmental causes of disadvantage. We also examine what the available information tells us about how policy responses are working in rural areas.
