The majority of end of life care literature focuses, rightly, on palliative care and makes few references to the physical environment. However, for some years there has been few references to the physical environment. However, for some years there has been growing interest in the quality of the environment for care at end of life – including the areas where people die, mortuary viewing facilities, and counselling spaces for those who have been bereaved
