Safety second?
Concerns have emerged that social workers are finding the task of protecting children from vulnerable households increasingly difficult, with some observers arguing that judges are using case law precedents to raise the threshold for removing children using Interim Care Orders. PSW Editor Joe Devo looks at an issue first raised by BASW’s Children and Families Committee, before frontline social workers responded to emphasise their own fears about the issue.
