A Commission priority is to populate the new Equality Measurement Framework (EMF) with data on indicators, in order to map the changing face of equality. However, it is well established that indicators for sexual orientation have not been routinely collected to date. This study was devised to increase our knowledge of the nature of sexual orientation, to capture changing public attitudes and to investigate the impact of disadvantage experienced by lesbian, gay or bisexual (LGB) people.
