Building a safe and confident future: One year on
Overarching professional standards for social workers in England
The Social Work Reform Board is developing the Professional Capabilities Framework which, when it is finished, will clearly set out how a social worker’s knowledge, skills and capacity build over time as they move through their careers. As a first step in developing this framework, the Reform Board proposes that there are nine core social work capabilities which should be relevant, to a greater or lesser degree, to all social workers and social work students no matter their level of experience or the setting they work in.
