Sept 2011 – BASW England Briefing on the implications of Munro in relation to Learning and Development

The Munro Review is first and foremost a review about social work and child protection. However throughout the report there is an emphasis on Learning. This briefing paper sets out some of the points that BASW may wish to take forward to achieve through the emerging institutions (i.e. College of Social Work, HPC):

  • an improved focus on the way that social work both embodies learning, critical reflection and CPD in its professional ethics and values and,
  • the promotion of a developmental approach with the people and communities that social workers work with.
