October 2011 - BASW England Consultation Response to MoJ/YJB consultation – Strategy for Secure Estate for Children and Young People in England and Wales
This consultation is of major interest to our members in England predominantly working with children and young people. It is our contention that children subject to the youth justice system are children first and that all services within the context of youth justice must uphold the welfare interests of children and be compliant with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Children as well as domestic legislation.
