July 2012 - BASW England Consultation Response to DH consultation – Social Work Bursary
BASW summary: It is essential that members from all sections of our diverse society are encouraged to train as social workers and any barriers to this are eliminated. A means tested approach to financial support may reduce the likelihood of restricting entry to the social work profession and hence keep the workforce at an acceptable level. Capping with no evidence of future need for social workers is not appropriate.
