Adoption 'tsar' speaks out

Would-be adopters are being put off by a “risk aversion” culture that wears them down to the point that they exit the process altogether, England’s ‘adoption tsar’ warned.

In an interview to be published in Professional Social Work magazine, Martin Narey says the system can be speeded up without putting children at risk.

The recently-knighted Government adviser, who has been criticised by social workers for his outspoken views, spells out what he believes needs to be done to improve England's adoption system.
