BASW Supports Social Care Reform Plea
With cross party talks on the future of social care due to begin again, BASW has added its support to a letter, published today in the Daily Telegraph, with 72 signatories, including leading figures from charities such as Carers UK and Age UK, as well as peers, academics and members of the British Medical Association and NHS Confederation.
The letter urges the prime minister and other party leaders to “seize this opportunity for urgent, fundamental and lasting reform: delivering a social care system which can provide the well-funded and high-quality care and support we would all expect for ourselves and our families”.
