Bristol Ciry Council Childrens Services

Find out more about services for children and young people in Bristol. From education, health and welfare, to youth services and play, these pages provide information about services to support the 92,000 children and young people in Bristol and their families. There is also information on support for parents and carers and resources for professionals working with children. The council works with its partners through the Children and Young People’s Trust, to deliver a wide range of services. By working effectively together, we aim to deliver the best possible outcomes for children and young people in the city.

British Association for Adoption & Fostering

We are the UK’s leading adoption and fostering membership association, which promotes the highest standards of practice in adoption, fostering and childcare services in social work, health, legal and other professional bodies on behalf of children separated from their birth families.

British Association for Adoption and Fostering (BAAF)

BAAF work with everyone involved with adoption and fostering across the UK. Our regional and country offices in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, provide services to meet the needs of some of the UK’s most vulnerable children and young people.

British Association for the Study and Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect

The British Association for the Study and Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (BASPCAN) is a registered charity which aims to prevent physical, emotional and sexual abuse and neglect of children by promoting the physical, emotional, and social well-being of children. We aim to promote the rights of children as citizens, through multi-disciplinary collaboration, education, campaigning and other appropriate activities, within our powers and resources.

British Institute of Human Rights

Our mission is to bring human rights to life by producing and shaping human rights tools, public policy and practices that empower people to improve their own lives and the lives of others.

CACHE

CACHE designs courses and qualifications in the care and education of children and young people. We are the UK’s only specialist Awarding Organisation to do this. Our courses range from entry level to advanced qualifications for sector professionals. You can take them in schools, colleges and training centres throughout the UK.

Cafcass

Cafcass looks after the interests of children involved in family proceedings. We work with children and their families, and then advise the courts on what we consider to be in the best interests of individual children.

CAMHS

CAMHS means Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services. We are part of the National Health Service (NHS) and work with others in Bexley, Bromley and Greenwich to support and help young people and their families. In CAMHS we specialise in providing help and treatment for children and young people with emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties.

To make it easier to find what is relevant to you we have grouped what we do into four main services: Residential Care; Support for independent Living; Education, Early Years and Childcare and Allied Health Services
