Understanding Self Harm

This booklet is for anyone who self-harms, their friends and family. It should give readers a greater understanding and knowledge of the condition and of what they can do to help overcome it.

Understanding Society: The UK Household Longitudinal Survey

Understanding Society is a unique and valuable academic study that captures important information every year about the social and economic circumstances and attitudes of people living in 40,000 UK households. It also collects additional health information from around 20,000 of the people who take part. Information from the longitudinal survey is primarily used by academics, researchers and policy makers in their work, but the findings are of interest to a much wider group of people including those working in the third sector, health practitioners, business, the media and the general public.

UNICEF

UNICEF works in the UK to champion children’s rights, win support and raise money for our work with children everywhere. For over 60 years UNICEF has been the world’s leading organisation for children, working to help them survive and thrive from early childhood through adolescence.

United Kingdom Disabled People's Council

We are working with over 300 disabled people’s organisations, and are running consultation and capacity building events all over the country. These events aim to strengthen the role of disabled people’s organisations, as it is only through them that we can achieve true equality.

United Kingdom Homecare Association

United Kingdom Homecare Association (UKHCA) is the national professional association and representative association for organisations who provide care, including nursing care, to people in their own homes.

United Response

United Response is a national charity that supports people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and physical disabilities to take control of their lives. We do this in many different ways – from supporting people to live as independently as possible in their own homes to helping them access their community, get training and seek work opportunities. We also campaign with, and on behalf of, the people we support on the issues that affect their lives. We believe that people with disabilities are equal participants in society and should have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.
