Better Health

National End of Life Care Intelligence Network
The National End of Life Care Intelligence Network (NEoLCIN) aims to improve the collection and analysis of information related to the quality, volume and costs of care provided by the NHS, social services and the third sector, to adults approaching the end of life. This intelligence will help drive improvements in the quality and productivity of services. The Network is part of the National End of Life Care Programme.

NHS Choices is the UK’s biggest health website. It provides a comprehensive health information service that puts you in control of your healthcare. The website helps you make choices about your health, from decisions about your lifestyle, such as smoking, drinking and exercise, to finding and using NHS services in England. NHS Choices includes around 20,000 regularly updated articles. There are also hundreds of thousands of entries in more than 50 directories that you can use to find and choose health services in England

Nuffield Trust is an authoritative and independent source of evidence-based research and policy analysis for improving health care in the UK. We aim to help provide the evidence base for better health care. Our work programme focuses on a number of key areas in which we have expertise.
Palliative Care of People with Learning Disabilities (NNPCPLD)
The PCPLD Network is a voluntary organisation. In 1998, a small group of learning disability and palliative care professionals came together, concerned by their experience that people with learning disabilities who were facing a life-limiting illness did not seem to access the same services or receive the same quality of service as the rest of the population. Together, they established the National Network for Palliative Care of People with Learning Disabilities (NNPCPLD), which later changed its name to the PCPLD Network.
Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman
Our role is to investigate complaints that individuals have been treated unfairly or have received poor service from government departments and other public organisations and the NHS in England. We work to put things right where we can and to share lessons learned to improve public services. We are a free service open to everyone.
Regional Voices for better health
Regional Voices champions the work of voluntary and community organisations to improve health, well-being and care across England. We are a partnership of nine regional networks. Together, we connect to over 25,000 voluntary and community organisations across England. Our coverage is broad, deep and well-established. We are a voluntary sector strategic partner of the Department of Health and work with the Local Government Association and other partners, supporting voluntary and community organisations to understand changes within the NHS and support organisations to influence these changes, in order to achieve better outcomes.

Providing guidance to ensure quality and value for money NICE guidance supports healthcare professionals and others to make sure that the care they provide is of the best possible quality and offers the best value for money. We provide independent, authoritative and evidence-based guidance on the most effective ways to prevent, diagnose and treat disease and ill health, reducing inequalities and variation Our guidance is for the NHS, local authorities, charities, and anyone with a responsibility for commissioning or providing healthcare, public health or social care services. We also support these groups in putting our guidance into practice.

Public Health Observatories (PHOs) produce information, data and intelligence on people's health and health care for practitioners, commissioners, policy makers and the wider community. Our expertise lies in turning information and data into meaningful health intelligence.
