Action for Advocacy
Advocacy is taking action to help people say what they want, secure their rights, represent their interests and obtain services they need. Advocates and advocacy schemes work in partnership with the people they support and take their side. Advocacy promotes social inclusion, equality and social justice.

Age Platform Europe
AGE Platform Europe is a European network of around 165 organisations of and for people aged 50+ representing directly over 30 million older people in Europe. Its work focuses on a wide range of policy areas that impact on older and retired people. These include issues of anti-discrimination, employment of older workers and active ageing, social protection, pension reforms, social inclusion, health, elder abuse, intergenerational solidarity, research, accessibility of public transport and of the build environment, and new technologies (ICT). The Platform takes also active part in several EU projects. The majority of these projects are funded by the 7th Framework Programme. The purpose of its work is to voice and promote the interests of the 150 million inhabitants aged 50+ in the European Union and to raise awareness of the issues that concern them most. AGE seeks to give a voice to older and retired people in the EU policy debates, through the active participation of their representative organisations at EU, national, regional and local levels, and provides a European platform for the exchange of experience and best practices. It also aims to inform older people on their rights as EU citizen or resident and on EU policy making processes and recent EU policy development.

All Wales Child Protection Procedures Review Group
Children in Wales is the national umbrella children's organisation in Wales, bringing organisations and individuals together to: Make the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child a reality in Wales Fight for sustainable quality services and fair shares for all children and young people Ensure special attention and treatment for children in need Give children and young people a voice Children in Wales works to meet the following objectives: to support and develop strong networks to produce and disseminate information to represent and consult with members to develop policy, practice and research to raise public, political and professional awareness to support new and existing initiatives Children in Wales is a membership body and is open to individuals and organisations from a wide range of fields with varying interests, but all of whom are interested in improving the lives of children and young people in Wales.
Anti Bullying Network
The Anti-Bullying Network was established at the University of Edinburgh in 1999 with funding from the Scottish Executive to provide free anti-bullying support to school communities. In the first eight years that it operated on this basis, the Network gained a national reputation for the high quality of the services it provided to school communities.

Barnado's
We run over 800 UK projects that transform the lives of more than 190,000 children and young people every year. Our work includes: fostering and adoption services and support helping children break free from sexual exploitation supporting young carers helping children living in poverty.

BEMIS
BEMIS is the national Ethnic Minorities led umbrella body supporting the development of the Ethnic Minorities Voluntary Sector in Scotland. BEMIS was established in 2002 to promote the interest of minority ethnic voluntary organisations, develop capacity and support inclusion and integration of ethnic minorities communities. It is a member-led and managed organisation with an elected board of directors. The major aims and objectives of BEMIS are to represent and support the development of the ethnic minority voluntary sector across Scotland, and to support the diverse communities and individuals that this sector represents, especially those who are under- represented and disadvantaged. BEMIS aims to address inequalities by empowering communities, working towards an inclusive society by establishing structures, which recognise diversity and empowers ethnic minorities, and ensuring that they are fully recognised and supported as a valued part of the Scottish multicultural civic society.
Better Health
While there has been progress in the equalities agenda over the last decade, there is evidence to suggest that inequalities persist in access to and the provision of health services. The Better Health briefing papers explore these inequalities, providing evidence and signposting practitioners towards good practice in health services.
