A conference looking at how mental health is a concurrent theme running through all social work services and how we address this today.

Speakers Include:

  • Dr Martin Webber , University of York - 'The untapped potential of mental health social work'
  • Professor Di Bailey, Nottingham Trent University - 'Mental Health Social Work: Charting a Course in Interdisciplinary Settings'
  • Jenny Molloy - HackneyChild Consultancy (Leaving care campaigner & service user) - 'The Care Leavers Journey: Trauma to therapy to peace from the past'
  • Mary O'Reilly - Mental Health Practitioner & service user - Human Cost - 'Where doea personal and professional integrity figure on a spreadsheet'
  • Faye Wilson - Chair of BASW Mental Health Reference Group - 'Mental Health, Mental Well-Being Everybody's Business'

Workshops will focus on how mental health should be central to all social work services and will include a focus on:

  • Drugs & Alcohol
  • Criminal Justice
  • Advocacy
  • Care for Social Workers
