The first series of Aids to Practice by Social Workers for Social Workers has been completed. This series of training events covered four topics: Recognising and Understanding Major Mental Illnesses, Suicide and Deliberate Self-Harm Assessment, Substance Use – Hidden Harm and Impact on Family and Domestic Violence Interventions – Managing Personal Beliefs to Ensure Professional Practice; and were held at various venues across Northern Ireland.
The sessions took place in small groups and provided the opportunity for group discussion and interaction. They lasted no longer than three hours.
