In May 2011 BASW undertook a survey of over 400 social workers into their experiences of cuts on their caseloads, their service and on the risks facing service users. BASW writes to all council leaders

BASW wrote to the chief executives of all local authorities in England during September 2010, urging them to safeguard social work services from cuts and outline what steps they have taken to free social workers from unnecessary bureaucracy and better support frontline practitioners.
